The countdown is on to our return to the water after six long months chlorine-free!

Take Your Mark

Our sessions resume on Monday 14th September, starting with the Youth and National squads first to swim at Auchenharvie.

The club would like to take this opportunity to thank KA Leisure for all the assistance they have given us since the Scottish Government announcement of the reopening of swimming pools.

Although at this stage it is not possible to open the pools at Garnock Campus, on account of it being within a school, we have secured almost all our pre-lockdown pool time at the other three venues, with a couple of additional sessions being offered to make up for the lack of access to Garnock.

The effect is that most squads will only have to drop 1 session from what was previously on offer.

Although these aren’t all at the same venues, or the same times, we have replicated it as much as we can and you can find the new temporary timetable here on this website.

But while the timetable looks the same our sessions – and the way we have to organise the swimming – will be very different.

Unfortunately, being Covid-secure means a lot of digital paperwork.

Before they can return to the pool every swimmer will need to:

Complete a health screening form

Complete a declaration that you understand the new Covid rules

Take part in an online induction session which will be happening over the coming week. (Keep watching your email inbox for details.)

Portal 1200 x 900EVERY swim has to be booked in advance in order that we can stick to strict limits on the number of swimmers in the pool at any time.

Once a week we will email a booking form for you to select which sessions you are going to attend – please pick only the ones you are committed to swimming at.

The sessions have been arranged so that we expect to be able to accommodate all swimmers for all their eligible sessions (with the possible exception of Masters) but we hope you will understand that there may be occasions where your booking might not be accepted.

We will let you know if that’s the case.

There will be many Covid rules to follow at the venues and we will be explaining them all to you in the induction sessions and in articles on this website.
