Sunday saw what might well be a record turnout of swimmers for the final races of the 2018 Club Championships at the Portal in Irvine.
The age group trophies are decided over two meets - for sprints and distance events - with the times the swimmers set earning them LEN points, the faster you swim a stroke / distance the more points you get - and the totals are added up over the two days of competition to decide the winners.
North Ayrshire Swimming President, Margaret Anne Dickson commented: "This is the 11th one I have been to and I can’t remember one with so many swimmers. Well done to all who took part today for the first time, I hope you enjoyed it and were pleased with your swims.
"Thank you also to all the parents, grandparents and friends who brought kids and stayed to support them throughout the day, it was a long one!
"Finally a huge thank you to all the dads and mums who set up the timing equipment and got things ready. All the technical officials for timing, judging and starting races, and to all our volunteer coaches for organising so many children and answering so many questions."
The swimmers still don't know who has won. That's being kept a closely guarded secret until the Presentation Night when the shields and cups will be handed out.
