North Ayrshire will be setting sail for the 2019 Clyde Coast Mini League as the draw is revealed.

Our swimmers face a daunting test in the first round as we host the reigning champions, City of Glasgow and Renfrew Baths.

The other two fixtures see us visit Dunoon (along with the team from Grangemouth) and we'll round off the campaign taking on another of last year's top six teams, Inverclyde and West Dunbartonshire.

"There are some very tasty ties in there," says an excited Junior Coach, Alan Dickson.

"I'm really looking forward to a trip across the water to Dunoon. It's going to be an adventure going there to swim and will feel like a real away day for the team. There's a link back to North Ayrshire there because our former Head Coach, Ross, swam with the team for a while and his Grandpa was a coach there.

"We've also got a lot of connections and a great relationship with Inverclyde. The daugther of their Head Coach, Shirley, used to swim with us and they're always really strong in the Mini League. We've got a big challenge on our hands to repeat last year's success in getting to the A Final, but that's got to be the aim.

"It's going to be an eye-opener for some of the newer swimmers who'll be getting their first taste of competition.

"The Development Squad has been swelling this year and some of them are going to playing a part in our Mini League team. Hopefully all the noise and excitement will be the hook which keeps them swimming long-term because it's the best and most exciting four galas of the year."

Although the draw has been made the dates for the matches are still to be confirmed, although we know that the A and B Finals will be at the Citadel in Ayr on 8th June.
