Swimmers from our Silver and Gold Squad begin their 2019 Clyde Coast Mini League campaign at the Portal on Saturday afternoon.

Last year the North Ayrshire team stormed back into the top 6, reaching in the A Final at the Citadel in Ayr after some thrilling battles in the group stage.

Junior Coach, Alan Dickson, has selected the swims for them but is keeping his picks secret until the day.

“It doesn’t seem to get any less exciting as the years have gone on,” he enthuses. “This is the twelfth I’ve been involved in and I’m looking forward to it as much as any in the past.”

“One big advantage for us is we’re going to be able to swim a separate B team in every event and there’s always somebody who pulls it out of the bag and beats the A team lane swimmer, and I’ve got a hunch about where that might happen this year.

“Even if you’re not swimming please come down to the Portal and make as much noise as you can, it really is the most boisterous gala of the year.”
