This year the first round of the North Ayrshire Swimming club championships is being staged at Auchenharvie, and for the first time in many years we’re delighted to see some of our Masters squad competing!
So here’s a reminder of how it works:
All swimmers need to be signed in at the pool by 9.15.
Gold, Youth, Seniors and Masters training session begins at 7am as usual on a Saturday – the warm up for everyone else is at 9am.
The first session will begin at 10am, there is half an hour for lunch between 1pm and 1.30pm when the warm up for the second session begins.
Development & Synchro swimmers will compete in 4 50m events across all strokes + 100m IM
9 & under can swim any 5 events but must include all strokes and one race must be a 200m event.
10 & over can swim any 5 events but must include all strokes and one race must be a distance event (400m or more)
Timing PadsEach swim is awarded ‘LEN points’ which relate to the time you set.
The age group champions are decided by whoever collects the most LEN points over both the distance and sprint meets.
Can all parents who are qualified as officials please bring their whites as they will be needed on poolside, just like at a regular meet.
All swimmers should bring a packed lunch + snacks and plenty of water or weak diluting juice (no fizzy drinks or crisps) and spare t-shirts to keep warm.
Tea and coffee will be available in the foyer and all donations for the tombola and offers or home baking will be greatly appreciated.
Have fun everybody!
